In summer 2017, bus entrepreneur and Spreeboote.de owner Frank was looking for a modern rental software for his boat rental business and asked us for advice. To our surprise, our market analysis revealed that there was no rental software that was mobile-optimised, cloud-based and flexible enough for Spreeboote’s functional requirements. There are many modern online shop solutions for selling items, but for rentals?
We only found very weak or niche solutions. Individual development was out of the question for Spreeboote, as the requirements were so extensive that they could not be implemented affordably. So we decided to develop a SaaS solution so that the software development could be financed by many customers. We founded a company, put together a top team and got started. We started development at the end of 2017 and in March 2018, Spreeboote became the first Rentware customer. Since then, we have continued to expand Rentware and have gained many new and enthusiastic customers in many rental sectors.
